Encrypted USB Flash Memory
Transcend's JetFlash Vault 100 is an encrypted USB flash drive that offers cryptographic protection with AES 256-bit hardware encryption in XTS mode. Utilizing the USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface, the JetFlash Vault 100 allows transferring all your confidential files and folders in a blazing-fast transfer rates.
XTS is the newest block cipher mode of Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with stronger encryption capability over CBC and ECB modes. XTS uses two independent keys to encipher texts, being more secure and less predictable. Additionally, each block is individually encrypted, meaning that there's no effect to other blocks when one of them is corrupted.
While the AES 256-bit algorithm focuses on data encryption, Transcend’s JetFlash Vault 100 equipped with RSA-2048 bit algorithm can prevent the potential risk of malicious firmware-based attacks. Each time when the JetFlash Vault 100 is powered on, the USB flash drive will do a self test to ensure the firmware integrity.
The JetFlash Vault 100 is validated by the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) (Validation No. 4142) run by the National Institute of Standards (NIST). FIPS 197 certification looks at the hardware encryption algorithms that does not require any driver or software installation on host PC to protect sensitive data from unauthorized tampering.
Encryption does not always come with complicated setup steps. Once inserting the JetFlash Vault 100 for the first time, you will be advised to set a strong password and a hint to protect your private, sensitive, personal, or confidential data. For enhanced security, you are given maximum 10 incorrect login attempts to unlock your JetFlash Vault 100. If you fail to input the correct password within the limit, you will be asked to format your JetFlash Vault 100.
Be sure to remember your password. If you forgot the combination, you can only format your JetFlash Vault 100 to factory settings with all the data being erased.
The JetFlash Vault 100 is assembled with durable, rubberized silicone outer casing to be shock resistant, and is IPX8 rated to offer protection against continuous immersion in water at a depth of more than 1 meter*.
*Conforming to IEC 60529 IPX8. Product must be clean and dry before use.
Transcend’s JetFlash Vault 100 is made in Taiwan, and compliant with Trade Agreements Act (TAA), meaning it is approved to be acquired by the United States Government for use.
